The Heat are promoting guard Jahmir Young from his two-way contract to a standard NBA deal, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
Young will receive a two-year contract, his agent told Shams Charania of ESPN. His salary for the 2026-27 season will be non-guaranteed, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

The move makes Young eligible for the postseason, with Miami set to compete in the play-in tournament for the fourth straight year. The Heat will need to win two games to advance as the No. 8 seed in the East.
An undrafted point guard in 2024, Young has seen limited NBA action in his second season, appearing in 13 games and logging 55 total minutes. However, he has been highly productive in the G League.
In 25 games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Young averaged 26.0 points, 8.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from three. He was named G League Player of the Month in January and earned All-NBAGL Second Team honors.
Miami opened a roster spot earlier in the day by waiving Terry Rozier.
