The Heat have signed undrafted shooting guard Dru Smith, the team announced in a press release.
While terms weren’t released, it is likely an Exhibit 10 training camp contract.
Smith, 24, is 6-foot-3 and went undrafted out of Missouri in 2021. He spent his first two college seasons at Evansville.
He is well-known to the Heat, as he spent last season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami’s G League affiliate, averaging 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Smith then played for the Heat entry in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Exhibit 10 contracts count toward a team’s offseason roster limit of 20, but not toward the regular roster unless the player receives a standard deal.
The Heat roster now stands at 20, the maximum allowed entering training camp.
