The Heat intend to sign small forward Haywood Highsmith to a three-year contract, agent Jerry Dianis told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Highsmith, 25, is 6-foot-7 and has signed three 10-day contracts with the Heat this season, appearing in nine games and averaging 2.7 points and 1.6 rebounds.
As Wojnarowski reported, his new deal comes some team options, likely indicating it’s either non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed.
Highsmith appeared in five games with the 76ers in 2018-19 after going undrafted out of Division II Wheeling (W.Va.) University. He signed a camp deal with the 76ers this past fall, but was waived September 30.
Along with the Heat, Highsmith spent some time with the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League earlier this season, averaging 13.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 17 games.
