Heat small forward PJ Tucker will opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Tucker is likely to be pursued by several championship contending teams after being a key part of a Heat team that finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Prior to that, he was a member of the 2021 NBA champion Bucks.
Tucker, 37, is opting out of the final year of a $7.4 million deal, perhaps banking on a multiyear contract. There is a decent chance he returns to the Heat, but could also draw a larger payday elsewhere.
