The Hornets announced that forward Brandon Miller has a shoulder subluxation. That’s basically a partial dislocation. He will continue rehab and get checked again in two weeks.
NBa insider Chris Haynes reported last week that Miller was seeking a second opinion, so this confirms the original diagnosis from late October. The good news? No surgery for now. They will try to let this calm down and heal with rehab.
Miller hurt the shoulder in Charlotte’s second game. He looked sharp in the opener with 25 points and seven assists, then went down early in Game 2.
The former No. 2 overall pick appeared in 74 games as a rookie, but only 27 last season because of a wrist injury that eventually required surgery.
So this is another frustrating setback for a young player the Hornets need on the floor. They play six games over the next two weeks and Miller will miss all of them.
Charlotte sits at 3-4 after winning only 19 games last season.
