The Hornets have extended qualifying offers to small forward Miles Bridges, forward/center P.J. Washington and guard Theo Maledon, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Bridges was suspended all of last season after a domestic battery case, but will now become a restricted free agent, as will Washington and Maledon. All three are expected to be back with Charlotte in 2023-24.
Bridges, of course, will be the biggest addition in terms of his 2021-22 season, when he broke out and became a borderline All-Star. He will be suspended for the first 10 games of this season as a result of his legal situation, the league announced. He was actually suspended for 30 games, but the league determined that he has already served 20.
Bridges posted a picture of himself working out in Charlotte on social media back in April. Bridges was wearing Hornets gear during the workout.
He put together a career year in 2021-22, averaging 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists. All were career highs.
While the QO for Bridges was very much up in the air, those involving Washington and Maledon were viewed as formalities.
