Hornets small forward Gordon Hayward will be evaluated on a weekly basis after suffering a left shoulder fracture, agent Mark Bartelstein told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Hayward, 32, missed Friday’s 110-109 home win over the Timberwolves, as this has turned into the latest injury on his fairly long list. He missed eight straight games earlier this month with a left shoulder contusion.
After that, he returned to play in three straight games. Since 2017, in which he played for the Celtics, Hayward has averaged just under 44 games a season.
In 11 appearances this season, Hayward has been his normally productive self — averaging Hayward has averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
The Hornets (6-14) have also been without point guards LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle), as well as small forward Cody Martin (knee).
