Hornets forward Miles Bridges is drawing real trade buzz as the February 5 deadline approaches, and the interest appears to be growing.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Bucks, Warriors, and Suns are among the teams keeping tabs on Bridges.
Charlotte is not in a rush. Bridges is under contract beyond this season, and the Hornets are said to be comfortable waiting unless their price is met.
That price is steep. One league source told The Athletic the Hornets want at least a first-round pick. Possibly more.
Bridges is averaging 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists this season, providing scoring punch, size, and durability. He is not an elite defender or shooter, but he has been a consistent 20-point-level scorer over the past several seasons and brings lineup versatility that contenders value.
Any interested team also has to weigh his off-court history. Bridges previously lost a full season following legal issues tied to domestic violence allegations, though he has avoided further trouble in recent years.
Milwaukee’s path is complicated by Charlotte’s reported lack of interest in Kyle Kuzma, who would be the most natural salary match. Golden State could explore a framework built around Jonathan Kuminga, though it is unclear how appealing that is to the Hornets.
Phoenix is also one to watch, with team owner Mat Ishbia connected to Bridges’ alma mater (Michigan State). But the Suns are reportedly cautious about disrupting team chemistry.
