The Hornets are signing guard Theo Maledon to a two-way contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Malden, 21, is 6-foot-4 and spent last season as a rookie with the Thunder, appearing in 51 games and averaging 7.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists, shooting 38 percent from the field.
Originally selected by the 76ers out of France with the No. 34 overall pick, his draft rights were traded to the Thunder in December 2020. He was traded to the Rockets last month.
The Hornets will have to make another roster move to complete the transaction, as they already have 20 players on their camp roster. Guard/forward Bryce McGowens is their other two-way player at the moment.
