The Hornets are signing forward Xavier Sneed to an Exhibit 10 training camp deal, per Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer.
Sneed, 24, is 6-foot-5 and spent last season with the Jazz on a two-way contract, appearing in seven NBA games. He spent the rest of his time with the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League, averaging 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 15 games.
He was waived by the Jazz in mid-September.
An Exhibit 10 contract counts toward the training camp roster of 20, but not toward the regular-season roster unless the player is signed to a standard deal.
Charlotte is off to an 0-2 start in the preseason, suffering blowout losses both times. But that means little in the big scheme of things, given the time of year.
Their roster will stand at the camp limit of 20.
