Former NBA and G League shooting guard Vander Blue has reached a deal with Club Atlético Peñarol of Uruguay, as relayed by Eurobasket.
Blue, 29, went undrafted out of Marquette in 2013 and has spent time with the Celtics (2014) and Lakers (2015, ’17-18). He has also spent extensive time in the G League.
But he has been outside of the U.S. since 2021, playing in Mexico and Israel before heading to Uruguay.
Lucas agrees to deal
Former Michigan State and G League guard Kalin Lucas has signed with Italian club Unieuro Forli, per Eurobasket.
Lucas, 32, went undrafted by the NBA in 2011, but appeared in one game with the Grizzlies in 2014 and signed a two-way contract with the Pistons in 2019. He has spent plenty of time in the G League and overseas, including a season with the Grand Rapids Drive.
Doughty to Fort Wayne
Former Auburn shooting guard Samir Doughty has landed with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the G League (Pacers affiliate). Doughty is in his second season after going undrafted by the NBA in 2020.
He started the season with the G League’s Lakeland Magic, averaging 8.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 19 games. He was originally selected by the Iowa Wolves with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2020 G League Draft.
