Isiah Thomas strongly bashes LeBron James for working out shirtless before Lakers-Rockets game: ‘I just totally 100% object to this’

NBA legend Isiah Thomas strongly bashed LeBron James for working out shirtless before the Los Angeles Lakers-Houston Rockets game.

James did his pregame workout on the Lakers floor without a shirt, something he has done several times.

“I just totally 100% object to this,” Thomas said on NBA TV. “If I was the GM or coach, I would never let one of my players walk out on the floor looking like this. I mean, we are a professional NBA league. We ain’t summer league. We ain’t at the YMCA.

“I just think the professionalism in our NBA league has diminished so much. And look, I like LeBron. I’m a fan of his. But to walk out on the floor before a game with no shirt on and shoot? I mean, come on man. Where we at? What we doing? Where we at? Now, if you want to, Adam Silver, if you want to fine somebody, fine that. Put a fine on that.”

The Lakers beat the Rockets to clinch the third seed in the West.

James finished with 14 points and eight assists in 22 minutes.

The leading scorer in NBA history, James exited the Lakers-Rockets game after appearing to tweak his left hip/groin area. The four-time champion left the arena without speaking to reporters but congratulated the team with a post on X after the game.

“Man I was going to say something but it’s useless at this point in my career!” James wrote. “Anyways more important CONGRATULATIONS JJ on a 50 win season in the WEST & Post Season nod!”

James will not play against the Portland Trail Blazers in the Lakers’ season finale. He will finish this season with averages of 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 51.3% from the field, 37.6% from beyond the arc and 78.2% from the free-throw line.
