It appears the James Harden holdout lasted all of one day. And that day was media day.
Actually, it appears he also missed the first practice of training camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Tuesday. But he is en route to join the team, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Harden reportedly had remained at his home in Houston while the rest of the 76ers embarked on Colorado. What changed his mind and made him decide to join the team is still to be determined.
Harden demanded a trade back in July. A few weeks later he referred to Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey as a “liar” during a promotional event in China. At the time, Harden said he’d never be on a Morey team again.
So, now what?
That much is also still to be determined. Certainly, the media in Colorado Springs will be asking some questions once Harden arrives.
But at least check, the Sixers have gained no traction on Harden trade talks — and that includes talks with the Clippers, believed to be Harden’s strongly preferred destination.
