The Jazz have signed forward Zylan Cheatham to a 10-0day contract via the hardship exception, the team announced in a press release.
Cheatham, 26, is 6-foot-5 and his lone NBA experience came during the 2019-020 season, when he appeared in four games for the Pelicans. He recently signed a 10-day deal with tye Heat, but did not appear in a game. His deal with Utah runs through Jan. 21.
The Jazz already had three players on 10-day contracts — forward Danuel House, center Norvel Pelle and shooting guard Denzel Valentine. These players are helping to fill in for the several regulars in health and safety protocols.
Earlier this season Cheatham appeared in 13 games with the Birmingham Squadron of the G League, averaging 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
