The Hawks are reportedly exploring trades involving forward John Collins, and the Jazz are among those interested, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Collins has also been linked to the Suns and a few others. Per Charania, Utah “has made an inquiry and has shown interest in recent weeks and months.”
Collins, 25, is 6-foot-9 and averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds, shooting a career-worst 23 percent on 3-pointers. He is in the second season of a five-year, $125 million contract — identified as a potential issue in a trade.
Overall, the Hawks (9-6) have been playing fairly well and entered Saturday in third place in the Eastern Conference, largely behind the play of guards Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.
Collins has also had a hand in the success, but some within the organization wonder if he’s a long-term fit, sources had told Hoops Wire.
"The Utah Jazz are another team, I'm told, that has made an inquiry and has shown interest in recent weeks and months."
