The Jazz have re-signed guard Trent Forrest on a two-way contract, as relayed by Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
Forrest, 23, is 6-foot-4 and plays both guard spots. He appeared in 30 games as a rookie last season, as well as four playoff games He averaged 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists during the regular season.
Prior to the start of free agency in early August, the Jazz issued a qualifying offer to Forrest and power forward Jarrell Brantley, their other two-way player. “Forrest’s was for another two-way deal, so it’s possible he just accepted that QO rather than negotiating a new two-way agreement,” Adams noted.
Forrest, of course, will be aiming for playing time in a vetera Utah backcourt that also includes the likes of Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley Jr. and Jordan Clarkson, as well as rookie Jared Butler.
Players on two-way contracts are eligible to appear in up to 50 NBA games. The majority of their time ios generally spent in the G League.
