The Jazz have received permission to interview Grand Rapids Gold coach Jason Terry for their head-coaching vacancy, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The Gold are the Nuggets’ G League affiliate.
Terry is a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year who served as assistant GM of the G League’s Texas Legends upon retirement in 2018. He left a year later to become an assistant coach at Arizona, his alma mater, before leaving to coach the Gold before the start of this past season.
The Jazz are casting an incredibly wide net in their coaching search, becoming the 13th name linked to the job in less than a week. Former coach Quin Snyder stepped down after eight seasons on Monday.
Also mentioned as candidates: Former Lakers coach Frank Vogel, ex-Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts and current Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin. You can check out the full list of candidates on our Jazz page.
Along with interviewing for the Jazz vacancy, Terry is also set to speak with several NBA teams about assisting coaching positions, Charania wrote.
