The Jazz have requested permission to interview Mavericks assistant Sean Sweeney for their head-coaching vacancy, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Sweeney becomes the latest in a long line of candidates that also reportedly includes former Lakers coach Frank Vogel, former Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts and current Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin. (You can view the full list on our Jazz page.)
The Jazz are looking to replace Quin Snyder, who stepped down after eight seasons. Sweeney is the 12th candidate reported.
Prior to joining Jason Kidd and the Mavericks, Sweeney spent time as an assistant with the Pistons. He previously assisted Kidd with the Nets and Bucks, and also served as video coordinator with the Nets before that.
Along with his NBA experience, Sweeney was the director of basketball operations at Evansville and a video coordinator at Northern Iowa.
