Celtics guard/forward Josh Richardson is among the players on the Jazz’s trade radar, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
Richardson is also among a handful of players believed to be made available of the Feb. 10 trade deadline, joining the likes of point guard Dennis Schroder and center Al Horford. (More on Schroder here.)
At the very least, it appears the Jazz have “kicked the tires” on Richardson’s availability and what the Celtics might want in return, per Brian Robb of MassLive.
Richardson, 27, is 6-foot-5 and was acquired by the Celtics in a July trade with the Mavericks. He the signed a contract extension with the Celtics in August. In 40 games this season, he is averaging 9.8 points on 45 percent shooting.
Richardson is due to earn about $12.4 million next season, the final year of his deal. Along with the Celtics and Mavericks, he has also spent time with the 76ers and Heat. O’Connor linked Richardson to the Jazz on The Bill Simmons Podcast.
“The Jazz have the best offense in the NBA but their 14th ranked defense could certainly use some help on the perimeter,” Robb wrote.
The Jazz have also been linked to Trail Blazers forward Robert Covington and Pistons forward Jerami Grant, who may or may not be available ahead of the Feb. 10 deadline.
