All-Star center Joel Embiid could potentially return for the 76ers’ home game Saturday vs. the Timberwolves, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Embiid as been in health and safety protocols for nearly two weeks, but per Charania, has been “ramping up” workouts.
If Embiid is unable to take the court for the Timberwolves, the Sixers may aim for Monday’s home date with the Magic, Charania reported.
Whenever Embiid returns, it’s safe to assume he will be under a minutes restriction as he works his way back.
Embiid entered the protocol on Nov. 8. He is a four-time All-Star and leads the 76ers with averages of 21.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in nine appearances this season.
The Sixers remain without star guard/forward Ben Simmons, who is reportedly seeking a trade. They too have been looking to trade him.
