Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson intends to exercise his $14.2 million player option for the 2023-24 season, per Sarah Todd of the Deseret News.
As Todd noted, the moves give Clarkson an opportunity for an extension.
Clarkson, 31, has just completed his third full year in Utah, averaging a career-high 20.8 points, as well as 4.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 61 games last season. He shot 44 percent from the field and 34 percent on 3-pointers.
Along with the Jazz, he has spent time with the Cavaliers and Lakers since entering the NBA as a second-round pick in 2014.
I'm told Jordan Clarkson will exercise his player option to stay with the Utah Jazz for the 2023-24 season, according to league sources.
This leaves the door open for the Jazz to extend his contract.— Sarah Todd (@NBASarah) June 29, 2023
