Free agent power forward Kenneth Faried has signed a contract with the G League, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Faried, 32, is 6-foot-9 and has been spending recent seasons in international leagues, with his latest stops coming in Russia and Puerto Rico.
While he had agreed to a G League deal, Stein noted that Faried could be called up to the NBA before G League play even resumes on Jan. 5.
Faried was a first-round pick of the Nuggets in 2011, spending the first seven years of his career in Denver. He last played in the NBA with the Nets and Rockets in 2018-19.
“Although Faried has solid career averages of 11.4 PPG and 8.1 RPG in 24.5 minutes per contest, he isn’t a great rim protector or floor spacer, which has limited his appeal to NBA teams in recent years,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
