Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love is expected to return this week after a stint in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, coach J.B. Bickerstaff indicated on Monday.
Love missed Monday’s game vs. the Celtics, but Bickerstaff said he is hopeful Love will be able to return Wednesday vs. the Nets or Thursday vs. the Warriors.
Love, 33, is averaging 9.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in the early season, coming off the bench in all seven appearances. He finished with 11 points and 12 boards in his last game, a Cavs road loss to the Suns on Oct. 30.
The Cavs have also been without guard Collin Sexton (knee) and forward Lauri Markkanen (protocols). Center Jarrett Allen also was out for Monday’s game with an undisclosed illness, but isn’t expected to miss much time.
J.B. Bickerstaff says Kevin Love is doing better, but #Cavs want to get him back into practice starting tomorrow and see how he responds to that.
