Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox has been playing through a bruised right foot for a little more than a month, per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.
It seemingly hasn’t done much to slow him down, as the Kings (13-10) enter Friday’s road game against the Cavaliers with playoff dreams. They haven’t been since 2006, prior to the invention of the iPhone.
But new coach Mike Brown has the Kings believing, and Fox is the so-called “head of the snake,” and remains the face of the franchise. Power forward Domantas Sabonis, shooting guards Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk, and small forward Harrison Barnes are other reasons to believe, as is rookie forward Keegan Murray.
Fox said the injury has been bothering him “a lot” and that he suffered it back on Nov. 5 vs. the Magic. He added that he doesn’t expect to miss any games, though.
Fox, 24, is 6-foot-3 and averaging 22.8 points, 5.6 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 20 appearances on the season.
