Kings star point guard De’Aaron Fox has a fractured index finger on his shooting hand and is considered doubtful for Game 5 on Wednesday vs. the Warriors, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The series is tied at 2-all with both teams winning each of their home games.
If Fox were to play in Game 5, he would need to wear a protective covering on the finger, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. There is still hope that Fox will be able to play, Wojnarowski added.
The injury to Fox occurred on his left hand, and he is known for being one of the NBA’s top left-handed scorers — or really, a scorer in any sense.
Fox is believed to have suffered the injury midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 126-125 road loss in Game 4, Charania noted. He stayed in the game and still managed to erupt for 38 points.
That made Fox the first Kings player to score 35 or more points in the same playoff series since legendary guard Oscar Robertson did it way back in 1966.
Really unfortunate news for the Sacramento Kings. https://t.co/NIykNjnUpa
