The Kings are expected to hire former Raptors coach Jay Triano as an assistant under incoming coach Mike Brown, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Triano, 63, coached the Raptors from 2008-11, compiling a 78-142 record. He also served as coach of the Canadian National Team from 1998-2004.
Most recently, he served as an assistant under James Borrego with the Hornets. Triano has also been an assistant with the Raptors and Trail Blazers, and the associate head coach with the Suns.
Brown, currently an assistant with Steve Kerr and the Warriors, was hired to replace interim man Alvin Gentry, who moved into Sacramento’s front office. Brown will join the Kings following the playoffs.
