The Kings continue to explore trades centered on shooting guard Buddy Hield and center Marvin Bagley III, according to Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.
Sacramento has been linked to several players, including 76ers guard/forward Ben Simmons, and Anderson wrote that Simmons could indeed be a potential target.
The Kings have not, however, spoken to the Pacers about available center Myles Turner or power forward Domantas Sabonis, as had previously been suggested, Anderson wrote.
“It’s somewhat curious that Sacramento wouldn’t target those big men for its guard-heavy roster,” wrote Dana Gaurudar of Hoops Rumors. “Sabonis is a two-time All-Star and the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, though as Anderson notes he’s a 31% 3-point shooter and is not considered a strong defender. Turner is the league’s top shot-blocker and would help space the floor with his 3-point shooting.”
Along with Hield, the Kings feature a bevy of impressive guards, led by De’Aaron Fox, as well as youngsters Tyrese Haliburton and rookie Davion Mitchell. For the time being, the Kings do not appear open to trading any of those three.
Hield was a trade target of the Lakers prior to the season and the sides even reportedly claim close to a deal. Bagley has been linked primarily to the Pistons.
Meanwhile, the 76ers seem to be ramping up trade talks surrounding Simmons, who has yet to play as both the team and player seek a trade. Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Trail Blazers, Cavaliers, Pacers, Timberwolves, Lakers and Knicks are other teams with an interest.
