The Kings have signed point guard Emmanuel Mudiay to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, the team announced in a press release.
Mudiay, 25, is 6-foot-3 and was drafted by the Nuggets with the No. 7 overall pick in 2015. He has been a solid pro, but fairly inconsistent since, carrying career averages of 11.0 points, 3.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds.
He has played in 300 career games and started in 165 of them, also spending time with the Knicks and Jazz.
The Kings have seven players in the NBA’s health and safety protocol — point guard De’Aaron Fox, guard Davion Mitchell, guard/forwards Terence Davis and Louis King, and forward/centers Marvin Bagley III, Alex Len and Neemias Queta.
Along with that, Sacramento has been without interim coach Alvin Gentry, also in protocols. Assistant Doug Christie has been coaching the Kings with Gentry sidelined.
