The Kings are signing rookie shooting guard Colby Jones to a four-year, $8.8 million contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Jones is a 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of Xavier. Sacramento selected him in the second round (No. 34 overall) of the 2023 NBA Draft.
Two of the years on Jones’ new deal are guaranteed, Charania wrote, adding that Jones is the first player to have been signed under the league’s new Second Round Pick Exception.
This move was first listed on the NBA transactions log, with Charania offering details of the arrangement.
Jones averaged 15.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists last season with the Musketeers, shooting 51 percent from the floor and 38 percent on 3-pointers.
