Kings officially sign Terence Davis to fill open roster spot

The Sacramento Kings have officially signed guard Terence Davis, the team announced in a press release. The move fills an open spot on the Kings’ 15-man roster.Terence Davis, Kings, NBA

Davis, 26, has spent most of his NBA career with Sacramento, playing for the team from 2021 to 2023. The veteran guard has a total of 227 NBA games under his belt, most recently appearing in 64 games during the 2022-23 season, where he averaged 6.7 points in 13.1 minutes per contest.

This season, Davis has been playing with the Wisconsin Herd in the NBA G League, where he averaged 14.3 points per game and shot 40.2% from beyond the arc. He also provides depth at the wing position, which the Kings have needed due to recent injuries.

Davis is recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, an injury he sustained while playing for the Rip City Remix in the 2023-24 season. He briefly signed a training camp deal with the Milwaukee Bucks this year but was waived in mid-October before joining the Herd.

The Kings have been carrying just 16 players this season, with 14 on standard contracts and two on two-way deals. With the addition of Davis, they now have a full 15-man roster. The team has been shorthanded with injuries to key players. Sixth man Malik Monk suffered a calf injury against Detroit on Monday, and Keegan Murray has missed the past two games due to a back issue.

Sacramento has been carrying fewer than the maximum 18 players, but the signing of Davis gives them a full roster for the remainder of the season.
