The Kings have waived small forward Justin James, according to Jason Jones of The Athletic.
As Jones noted, James’ 2021-22 salary would have been guaranteed if he hasn’t been cut by Sunday night.
James, 24, is 6-foot-7 and was originally selected by the Kings out of Wyoming in the second round (No. 40 overall) of the 2019 NBA Draft.

He appeared in 36 games in each of his first two seasons, compiling averages of 3.9 points and 37 percent shooting last season.
Per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee, James simply became a victim of the Kings’ depth at the wing positions — with the likes of Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Maurice Harkless and Terence Davis already on the roster.
