The Trail Blazers have agreed to trade guard/forward Josh Hart to the Knicks, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In exchange, the Knicks will send forward Cam Reddish and a protected first-round pick to the Blazers, Wojnarowski added.
Hart, 27, had previously been linked to the Cavaliers and Heat, but it became apparent the Blazers would trade him somewhere before Thursday’s deadline.
Appearing in and starting all 51 games with Portland, he is averaging 9.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists. Along with that, Hart is averaging a career-high 33.4 minutes.
Meanwhile, it’s been just about the opposite for Reddish, 23, acquired by the Knicks from the Hawks at the trade deadline last year.
This season, he fell out of coach Tom Thibodeau‘s rotation, failing to get off the bench since Dec. 3. The No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Reddish is on his rookie deal and will be a restricted free agent this summer.
While it didn’t work in New York, he should get an opportunity and could prove to be a fit for coach Chauncey Billups and the Trail Blazers.
Hart, by the way, is making $12.9 million this season and has a player option on his contract for the same amount in 2023-24.
