Multiple reports have said the Knicks have made guard Evan Fournier and others available, and that they have spoken to the Lakers in recent days.
Now, it has been revealed that part of those talks involved the Knicks offering Fournier to LA for guards Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
This follows a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, which said the Lakers and Knicks have also discussed forward Cam Reddish, among the others said to be available. Right now, though, it appears the talks are hypotheticals, and it isn’t even known if they are still ongoing.
For what it’s worth, the Lakers have been linked to Reddish since last season. As we relayed right here, they have been pining to pull off some sort of a deal and move back into contention.
“It’s worth noting the Lakers have checked in several times on the availability of Reddish over the past year,” Scotto wrote, citing league sources. “However, it’s unlikely the inclusion of Reddish alone would move the needle for the Lakers to take on Fournier’s contract, which includes $18.8 million on the books for next season.”
It also seems unlikely that Reddish and Fournier alone would move the needle enough for the Lakers to be bothered to pull off such a trade.
Along with Fournier and Reddish, the Knicks reportedly have made guards Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley available in talks.
