Knicks forward Kevin Knox has become the latest in a long line of NBA players everywhere entering health and safety protocols.
For the Knicks, it means Knox joins RJ Barrett, Quentin Grimes and Obi Toppin in the protocols.
The Knicks have reportedly been taking some trade calls on Knox, who hasn’t been a part of the regular rotation since coach Tom Thibodeau took over last year.
Knox, 22, is 6-foot-7 and was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Some scouts will tell you that while Knox is not a Thibodeau-type player, he could help out a team in terms of shooting and scoring.
“After playing just 23 total minutes over the Knicks first 26 games, Knox logged 48 total minutes in New York’s last two contests,” RealGM wrote. “He scored 18 points in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks and followed that up with nine points in a loss to the Golden State Warriors.”
Shams Charania of The Athletic first reported that the Knicks were taking trade calls on Knox. Charania did not identify which teams may be calling about Knox — though he did report that the Knicks are among the teams interested in 76ers guard/forward Ben Simmons.
