The Knicks have released point guard Myles Powell, the team announced in a press release.
Powell, 24, is 6-foot-2 and went undrafted out of Seton Hall in 2020. He spent the following preseason with the Knicks, then was with the Westchester Knicks in the G League bubble in 2021.
As Fred Katz of The Athletic noted, Powell was signed to an Exhibit 10 contract, “which means the purpose was as a way to get him a guaranteed $50K (the most they can guarantee with that kind of deal), then get him onto their G League affiliate. The quick release after he signed yesterday is not a surprise.”
New York has 14 players under guaranteed contract, with room for one more if it sees fit.
