Lakers star forward/center Anthony Davis will miss at least a month with a right foot injury, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The Lakers are “bracing for an indefinite absence,” Charania added, after Davis went down in Friday’s win over the Nuggets. He was forced to exit before halftime.
Davis, 29, has experienced an array of injuries since arriving in LA, and even before that while with the Pelicans. He is averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds in 25 appearances, shooting 59 percent from the field.
When he’s healthy, he looks like an NBA MVP candidate. The problem is keeping him healthy.
The Lakers (12-16) sit in 12th place in the Western Conference. They host the Wizards (11-18) on Sunday night.
Lakers are bracing for an indefinite absence for the Lakers star, sources say, after he sustained the right foot injury in Friday’s win over Denver. Davis has played arguably the most dominant ball of his career this season. https://t.co/WCTr2y7eNp
