It doesn’t appear that the Spurs and point guard Goran Dragic will be together for long.
Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Spurs are expected to buy out the remainder of Dragic’s contract. He is in the final year of a $19.4 million deal, and was just acquired in a trade with the Raptors.
But the Spurs don’t intend on keeping Dragic, giving him a chance to join a contender.
The list of teams linked to Dragic, following a presumed buyout, according to multiple reports, including Wojnarowski — the Lakers, Warriors, Bucks, Clippers, Nets and Bulls.
Basically, it seems Dragic “should have his pick of teams, as he’ll catch on for a 2022 playoff run,” RealGM wrote.
Dragic, 35, was traded to the Spurs for forward Thaddeus Young and a 2022 second-round pick. The Spurs also received a 2022 protected first-rounder in the deal. Dragic has appeared in just five games this season.
