The Lakers have claimed veteran guard Avery Bradley off waivers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Bradley, 30, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in 27 total games with the Rockets and Heat last season. He played for the Lakers in 2019-20 prior to opting out of the season ahead of the Orlando bubble (and LA’s title run).
During that season, Bradley averaged 8.6 points and 2.3 rebounds, and continued to offer strong perimeter defense while playing both guard positions.
He was released late last week after signing a camp deal with the Warriors.
“Bradley failed to earn the 15th spot on Golden State’s regular season roster, but will become the latest veteran to rejoin the Lakers after spending time away from the team,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, and Kent Bazemore are among the others who fit that bill.”
The Lakers’ roster now stands at 17.
