Lakers Looking To Find Some Fight Before Season Totally Unravels

The Lakers hit rock bottom on Wednesday. A 41-point drubbing at the hands of the Miami Heat wasn’t just ugly — it was alarming.LeBron James, Lakers, NBA

And the worst part? This isn’t some one-off disaster. It’s their fourth loss by 20 or more points in the last seven games. That’s not a slump; that’s a team unraveling.

Coach JJ Redick, never one to sugarcoat, sounded the alarm postgame. And let’s be real, he’s not wrong.

“We’re having trouble right now on both ends with, like, base-level game-plan stuff,” he said. That’s code for: We don’t even have the basics down. Ouch.

Redick didn’t stop there. “This is my team, and I lead it, and I’m embarrassed,” he added.

Ownership? Sure. But then came the kicker: “There’s not a sense from me that we’re together right now.”

Translation? This group is splintered, and it’s showing in real time.

LeBron and AD: Frustrated, But Not Debating

Even with LeBron James snapping out of his recent shooting funk to drop 29 points, he didn’t dispute Redick’s take.

“It’s on the players,” he admitted.

And let’s not gloss over Anthony Davis, who’s been a shell of himself lately. Two games, 20 combined points — what’s happening there?

AD kept it blunt: “I hate losing… and it’s on us players, to be honest.”

That’s the theme here: accountability. Everyone’s saying the right things. Redick’s taking responsibility, LeBron’s agreeing, AD’s owning his struggles.

But talk only goes so far, and right now, the Lakers look like a team stuck between excuses and solutions.

The Bigger Picture

Let’s not forget: this team started the year 10-4. People were talking about them as a potential contender. Fast forward, and they’re losing by 40+ on national TV.

That’s not just bad — it really is embarrassing. And Redick said it himself: “It’s easy to not want the ownership, particularly when it’s embarrassing.”

So, what’s next? Redick’s right. This isn’t about schemes. The coaching staff isn’t the problem. This is about effort, communication, and figuring out how to play as a unit.

The Lakers look disconnected, disjointed, and, frankly, defeated. Until they fix that, we’re going to see more blowouts and perhaps some more finger-pointing.

Bottom line? The Lakers have the talent, but they’ve lost their fight. And unless they find it fast, this season is going to spiral out of control.
