Offseason acquisition Gabe Vincent has appeared in just five games with the Lakers — and it could be a little while before he appears in a sixth.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Vincent is “strongly considering” knee surgery that would keep him out for another six-to-eight weeks. It doesn’t sound like a firm decision has been made, however. Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported that Vincent is considering all options.
Vincent signed a three-year, $33 million deal with the Lakers in July, one month after being a key part of Heat team that advanced to the Finals.
It would be a surprise if either Vincent or the Lakers saw the Finals this year. But you don’t know until you try, and right now, Vincent’s left knee issues aren’t even allowing him to do that much.
Vincent, 27, averaged a career-high 9.4 points last season with Miami. He spent the first four years of his career there.
