Lakers forward/center Anthony Davis again got injured, missing the second half of Friday’s win over the Nuggets with a right foot issue.
“He’s being evaluated by our medical team,” coach Darvin Ham told reporters. “There’ll be further evaluation tomorrow. We’ll know more tomorrow.”
Davis was expected to have an MRI on the foot on Saturday, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN. The Lakers are hopeful that Davis’ injury is not severe, and is just some discomfort, a source told McMenamin.
Davis, 29, has experienced an array of injuries since arriving in LA, and even before that while with the Pelicans. He is averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds in 25 appearances, shooting 59 percent from the field.
When he’s healthy, he looks like an NBA MVP candidate. The problem is keeping him healthy.
The Lakers (12-16) sit in 12th place in the Western Conference. They host the Wizards (11-18) on Sunday night.
