LeBron James is staying out of it. Completely.

Asked about the Clippers parting ways with Chris Paul, James said he hasn’t even talked to his longtime friend since the move became public. And he made it clear he’s not offering commentary.

“It’s not for me to comment on,” James said, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “It’s none of my business.”

Fair enough. Still, the situation remains strange. The Clippers reportedly didn’t enjoy having Paul around. They announced a split. And yet, weeks later, he’s still on the roster. Not traded. Not waived. Just sort of… there.

Paul is in limbo. LeBron is hands off. And the Clippers are taking their time, which tells you plenty all by itself.

As for the game, James and the depleted Lakers were blown out by their crosstown rivals. Leading scorer Luka Doncic exited with a leg injury in the first half.
