The Lakers, Knicks and Jazz discussed a three-team trade that would send Utah Donovan Mitchell to New York, with other notable players also on the move, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Along with Jazz wing Bojan Bogdanovic, Knicks small forward Cam Reddish was involved in the talks, Scotto reported. The Lakers have had an interest in Reddish for a while now, as they almost landed him in a deal that involved the Knicks and Raptors this past season.
The Lakers were also linked to Bogdanovic, but it all seems exploratory at this point.
Either way, back in June, Fred Katz of The Athletic wrote that the Knicks were exploring potential Reddish trades. It appears that hasn’t changed.
Reddish, 21, is 6-foot-8 and averaged a career-low 6.1 points in 15 games with the Knicks last season after arriving from the Hawks. He missed some time with injury, but never really seemed to fit under coach Tom Thibodeau.
While the Knicks are continuing to keep Mitchell on their radar, this is the time of year many team executives take their vacations. So talks may be on hold for a bit.
It is not known if the Knicks and Jazz intend to continue to include Reddish and the Lakers in talks — though it is widely believed a third team will be needed to facilitate a Mitchell deal.
