The Lakers are among the teams that are talking to opposing clubs with multiple draft picks, perhaps in an effort to move down and acquire an additional prospect, per Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo of ESPN.
For now, the Lakers own the Nos. 17 and 47 overall selections.
The Nets could be one team on the Lakers’ radar, with Brooklyn possessing picks Nos. 21 and 22. Also, the Pacers have five picks in this year’s draft, including Nos. 26 and 29 of the first round. Indiana is known to be trying to move some picks, with no desire to bring five rookies to training camp.
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is expected to be more active in the draft than seasons past, as the team has to start getting ready to build and add youth in preparation for the post-LeBron James era.
