The Lakers have waived shooting guard Bryce Hamilton, according to the NBA transactions log.
Hamilton, 22, is 6-foot-4 and signed an Exhibit 10 contract for training camp back on Sept. 7. But that was likely to keep his rights for the South Bay Lakers of the G League, where he played last season.
Hamilton went undrafted out of UNLV in 2022, then signed with the Lakers in October last year. He was waived a day later and eventually appeared in 29 games with South Bay, averaging 14.1 points and shooting 39 percent on 3-pointers. He then played for the Lakers at Summer League in July.
With camp just a few weeks away, there’s a good chance Hamilton will return to South Bay, assuming he doesn’t get a better offer. Should he stick with South Bay for 60 days, he’ll be eligible for a bonus of up to $75,000.
