The Lakers have waived forward Fabian White Jr., the team announced in a press release.
White, 23, is 6-foot-8 and spent five seasons at Houston, missing his fourth year with a torn ACL. He bounced back to average 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in 38 games in 2021-22.
He himself initially broke the news of his signing to Mark Berman of Fox 26 back in June. White had signed an Exhibit 10 contract at the time.
“It means everything,” he told Berman. “All the work I’ve put in has paid off. (Dealing with) the torn ACL, all the sprints I had to run, it all paid off.”
The Lakers now have just two players signed to training camp contracts — guard Javante McCoy and center Jay Huff.
The Los Angeles Lakers have requested waivers on forward Fabian White Jr.
