The Bulls have acquired point guard Lonzo Ball in a sign-and-trade deal after Ball agreed to a four-year, $85 million contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The fourth year of the contract will include a player option, as relayed by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
In return for Ball, the Pelicans will receive guards Tomas Satoransky and Garrett Temple, as well as a second-roud pick, Charania reported.
“It’s a major coup for the Bulls, who have been linked to Ball for the last several months. The team reportedly discussed a trade with the Pelicans at the deadline, but couldn’t reach a deal to land Ball at the time,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “Now, Chicago is in position to add the former No. 2 overall pick to a starting lineup led by Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.”
Ball, 23, averaged 14.6 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 55 games last season.
