Luka Doncic hits 60 in Lakers win, and some things aren’t a surprise

There’s a point in some games when it stops being about sets and matchups. It becomes about survival.

Luka Doncic got there again Thursday night, pouring in 60 points to lead the Lakers to a 134-126 road win over the Heat.

Not just scoring. Control. The Lakers didn’t need to get cute late. Once Doncic found his rhythm, the game tilted. Then it stayed there.

That’s the part that stands out. He dropped 39 in the second half. On a back-to-back. Against a defense that knew exactly what was coming and still couldn’t do much about it.

We’ve seen big scoring nights before. Plenty of them. This is different.

Doncic doesn’t just pile up points. He dictates pace, spacing and decisions. Every possession starts to feel like it’s on his terms. That’s when defenses crack.

LeBron James did his part. Triple double. Efficient. Steady. Didn’t really matter, because when Doncic reaches that level, everything else becomes secondary.

You’re not stopping him. You’re just trying to hang on.
