The Celtics have agreed to trade injured center Bol Bol and injured guard PJ Dozier to the Magic, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Both players were part of a trade with the Nuggets last month, and Bol had actually been traded to the Piston before that, though that deal was rescinded.
Either way, this move will put the Celtics below the salary-tax line, which was its entire purpose. The Magic will send a second-rounder to Boston, while also receiving one in return, Wojnarowski reported.
Orlando acquired both players using trade exceptions, and both players are on expiring contracts. So their futures even with the Magic are in doubt.
Bol, 22, is 7-foot-2 and has appeared in just 14 games with the Nuggets this season. He is the son of the late Manute Bol, a 7-foot-7 Dinka tribesman who played in the NBA and became a fan favorite in the late-1980s and 1990s.
Dozier, 25, is 6-6 and appeared in 18 games with the Nuggets, averaging 5.4 points, before suffering a season-ending ACL tear.
