The Magic have agreed to a two-year contract with center/forward Moritz Wagner, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
As Robbins noted, the addition of Wagner, as well as rookie guard Jalen Suggs and rookie forward Franz Wagner, gives Orlando 15 players under contract. But center Dwayne Bacon‘s contract is only guaranteed for a few more days. So perhaps another move is coming.
Moe Wagner and Franz Wagner are brothers, with each having played at Michigan.
Moe Wagner, 24, is 6-foot-11 and has bounced around the NBA, finishing the season with the Magic after stints with the Wizards and Celtics.
He appeared in 11 games with Orlando, averaging 11.0 points and 4.9 rebounds. Overall, he carries averages of 6.8 points and 3.4 boards.
“Wagner figures to add depth to a Magic frontcourt that includes Wendell Carter and Mohamed Bamba, noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “The team also reached a one-year deal with Robin Lopez to add some veteran experience to that group.”
Wagner spent his rookie year with the Lakers and was part of the multi-team trade that landed Anthony Davis in LA in 2019.
